English 11 Course Description 

This yearlong, high school English course provides juniors with a thorough examination of American literature.  Based on the Common Core Standards, students will focus on all facets of argument and informational text. Students will receive thorough examination of the rhetorical appeals and rhetorical strategies, the writing of the rhetorical analysis, the argumentative essay, and the synthesis essay. Students will also focus on tactics for answering tough multiple-choice questions in regards to informational text.

Students will study grammar in preparation for the ACT. 

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to read and write arguments of various types.
